It was a pleasure to meet Deepen Shah from Buzzd while at CTIA in Las Vegas a few weeks ago. Now I am very happy to write that Buzzd has gotten a first round of venture capital led by Greycroft Partners and Monitor Ventures. This is thrilling news for these guys and I hope they do big things with the money, like bring their services to LA and many other cities around the globe.
Buzzd answers the question “What’s going on around me right now?” delivering location-sensitive, event and venue information, along with up-to-the-minute reviews and ratings from friends and other members of the Buzzd community. For example, “The Sky Room is filled with sport tonight”. This is the information that people want to know on a night by night basis, not an in general assumption.
