I have a question I have been wanting to ask for a very long time. Who is supporting the bloggers. Unfortunately the blogging community has lost some superstars in the last year, and come very close to losing another last December. My question is, who takes care of the bloggers? Do bloggers have health care? Medical, dental, eye coverage is expensive, how can we/they/us be expected to pay for that if we are getting paid in pennies per click? After the JetBlue airline debacle last year passengers got a bill of rights. Is it time for bloggers to get the same “rights”? Do we have to lose more great men and women? Does one have anything to do with the other? I’m not really sure, but if something happens must we put a Paypal donation link on our blogs to help us survive. When do we get that right, after a heart attack or getting hit by a car?
Can we get something going in terms of health care for starters? How about a world wide union, is that possible? Is that even feasible? I don’t want to leave the rest of the world out but can we just start as a model maybe here in the US? Or set up our own slush fund to help bloggers get through a rough patch?
I know some people think blogging is about being free from the “man” but sometimes paying into something like this isn’t so bad. If you were a professional blogger would you pay $300/year for basic insurance? Maybe just catastrophic? Or how about $100/month for basic but full coverage? I’m not saying we should start a union but if we all went through the same agency can bloggers get a heavy discount?
I don’t know maybe I’m crazy for even thinking this out loud but come on, we all need some kind of safe guard.
I say this in lots of my posts to leave a note telling me what you think but in this case I really want to know your opinion, I don’t care if you disagree but at least enlighten me.
I wrote this at 4 am ish so please ignore and spelling or grammatical errors, I am to tiered to fix them now.

I like the idea, but i hate insurance companies… I think it’s a good thought, but there’s nothing uniting us together, maybe a web based company called thebloggers.com and here would be our bill of rights, help with setting up blogs,..

Here i where i believe the arguement lends itself to a little bit of socialism. I truly believe everyone needs good insurance and if we had universal case, no one even bloggers would have to face this. Good thoughts raised here.
