The Nokia E71 is blowing my mind

nokia-e71.jpegI have been using the Nokia E71 NAM for over 2 weeks now (thanks Colin at WOM World) and have been mostly impressed. As a whole I think it’s amazing but there are a few aspects of it that could use some work.

For example, it needs to restart much less often, it also needs to have a much longer battery life. It barely lasts a whole day for me and quite often I need to charge it during the day.

I want to focus on what it has going for it.

  • The size is absolutely amazing, I forget I have it with me sometimes
  • The build quality is second to none, can’t say enough good things in this department
  • The keyboard is near perfect, it could use more symbols on the buttons so I don’t have to go into the additional characters
  • Nokia Email is a joy to use on here
  • I usually swap phones on a regular basis and since I have had the E71 I have only switched to take pictures and then switched right back.

There are many more good things about this phone but I can’t name them all

Some of the less then perfect aspects of the E71 are

  • Battery life, it should last the whole day
  • The screen size, I think it should be a little taller
  • The camera, it has a blue or purple tint to it
  • The 2.5mm ear phone adapter, it should have been 3.5mm to accept standard earphone plugs

My favorite application on the E71 is Nokia Email, it has really added a great deal of value to the the device.

Remember I really like this phone. It is one of the first phones in a long time that I want to go out and purchase myself. It is much faster then I expected and of such high quality I have recommended it to many friends and associates who turn to me for mobile phone advice. It absolutely has it faults but those are minor trade offs. I suggest if you are in the market for a new mobile phone and you want a QWERTY keyboard then you should consider this phone and honestly, no others.
