So I did not use the Nokia E71 for over 24 hours and the battery lasted. Here are the details. Wednesday was a short day for me but I still managed to kill the E71 battery before 2pm and then charged it back up 3/4 of the way before I unplugged everything at about 4pm. I grabbed my E61i battery because it’s the same battery as the E71 (good job Nokia) and left. I figured I would probably get thorough the night but definitely not all of Thursday. Well Thursday came and went and when I picked up my phone in the evening it was still going strong and lasted late into the night. I was downloading email (using Nokia Email) all day and the phone was struggling to hold onto a signal and sometimes even picked up a 3G signal. I did turn off bluetooth and Truphone and anything else that I was running. This is a happy and surprising moment for me. I just wish the E71 would last this long with me using all of it’s goodness.
Keep up the good work Nokia.

I don’t think there is a phone battery, currently, that can withstand having features like GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth activated. Add things like push email and you will drain the battery even faster.

Totally agree with Michael. GPS and WiFi not to mentioned 3G (HSDPA) in action kill the battery. We need smaller, power efficient chips!

Well, isn’t that the point of the device? To use it… I run on 3G mostly, usually have VOIP connected, and always have email going. I also usually have Jaikus S60 app and Slander running on the browser. I think that is what an E series device is all about, connectivity. The devices are supposed to enhance my life, not give me more things to remember to take with in my pockets (spare battery, Proporta, charger).
