I got on my computer this morning planning to check on a flight my cousin and his new bride were on because I was picking them up at Long Beach Airport. Their itinerary I was sent said they were flying SkyWest Airlines so where do I go to check on their flight? You guessed it, www.skywest.com. Isn’t that where you would go? Well if I wanted corporate information that’s the website to go to but if I want to check on the status of a flight and it’s expected time of arrival it is definitely not the website to visit. I had no patience to dilly dally around and do Google searches to find out what I needed to so I called their corprate office and the nice women who answered told me I should have gone to Delta or United or some other airlines website. SkyWest is the company flying the Delta rough in this case. I can understand that, but why isn’t there some kind of information on the SkyWest website. Something simple like a mashup of the 3 or 4 airline that they fly for and some options of how to find the flight info.
I was appauled at the web 1.0 feeling of this site.  Anyways, I got my cousin, met his wife and enjoyed a very nice visit. I finally dropped them at the Port of Long Beach so they can go on their honeymoon.
I still don’t know how to find out the status of a SkyWest flight except for calling their corprate office. Rediculous.
