You're right with the restart option omission.
I personnaly use SmartSettings by Mobifunsoft. It helps me create a start menu (so my left softkey becomes WAY MORE usable), it suppresses the lag on the right softkey AND you can enable a restart option in its start menu. It's not free, but considering everything it brings to the table, it worth any peny you'll pay for it.

And then again, going to Android (or anything else) because of all the small omissions in S60 is stupid in my opinion. You will just be trading S60's "downsides" for the "other OS's" downsides. 'Cause there's nothing like a perfect OS you know...the real question is "what do you really need ?", plus Nokia is evolving its product line. See the N900 ? It's just a hint a the future...
The company able to make products as balanced and well built as the Nokia E71 for instance isn't "born" yet. Plus Nokia is putting some serious mony where it matters: hardware ingeeniring, service creation, open source technology and many more, ALLTOGETHER.
Better stay with Nokia dude...

Dominic,
I could possibly see that happening but I doubt I will stray from Nokia though it doesn't hurt to see what else is out there. I wish we had better blogger relations programs here in the States to make review units available to bloggers.
I keep hearing really great thing about Android but is there an E71 format phone available yet? I need QWERTY and don't usually like the sliders.

Thanks so much for reading,
Jeb

Hi Jeb.
I know you love Nokias, so do I, on the outside.
I currently have an E71 which I have to boot at least once a day when the hard and soft menu button simply fails to work any more. So it could be worse, you could have an *operator build*. I have this because I work for one.
Fortunately I have 2 Android phones that pretty much just work, and fairly elegantly too.
When you have finally had enough of S60, I'd recommend picking up the next Android Qwerty slider that HTC do.

Mike,
My point is that it should have been included in the built in software. It's one of those things that should not have to be added, it's so basic and so needed.
