A few weeks ago I spent some time with Alec Saunders, the co-creator of Calliflower. On the surface it is a cool application, providing web based conference calling and as you dig into it and use Calliflower you come to find out it’s the single best application available today for conference calling.
Alec who I first met in Barcelona at Mobile World Congress a few years back used to have a daily call for telecom industry experts, insiders, executives, and a few stragglers like myself called Squawkbox. It was a pleasure to take part in (thanks again Alec) but it gave me the opportunity to use Calliflower every day for many months. I don’t have nearly the same amount of experience on any other conference call service as I do on Calliflower but I do know I liked it so much more then anything else I’ve ever used.
It’s a joy to use for many reasons including:
- Web based service
- Chat wall so everyone can interact but not talk over each other
- There’s a document sharing feature
- Local call in numbers (80 cities in 17 countries)
- Document sharing
- Multiple organizers
- All mute
- Raise hand option
- Call recording plus free download after call
- iPhone app (if I ever get one I’ll try it)
I highly recommend trying out Calliflower. There’s a free and paid version. There are some amazing additional features you get when paying but don’t hesitate to use the free version. I can almost guarantee you won’t be disappointed and I’m NOT an employee or being paid. I’m just a fan and happy user of the service, there’s no better endorsement then that.
