June 23rd, 2009 · No Comments

I got an email last week asking if emoze has a home screen alert on a Nokia E71.  I went to work right away documenting it and decided to put together a short video showing you how to set up the home screen alerts.  Also below is the very simplified instructions.  Good luck and if [...]

I need to get back to 3G full time

June 16th, 2009 · No Comments

I am suddenly infatuated with having 3G again.  I have been carrying 2 phones around lately because I really like my E71 but equally enjoy having 3G speeds on my device so I have the E75 for that.  The other night though I was driving home from watching the Lakers basketball game and nothing was [...]

The Nokia E55 is peaking my interest

June 10th, 2009 · 15 Comments

I have been thinking about the Nokia E55 a great deal of the last few weeks and months.  I was introduced to it back in February at Mobile World Congress and instantly fell in love with it.  I am a heavy mobile emailer but feel the smaller the device the better, within reason.  Not surprisingly [...]

As many of you know I am a big mobile email user on my E71 and just to be transparent I do work for emoze, the best push email provider avaialble.  Though that doesn’t mean I don’t use other email services.  I’m on email so much I use both emoze and Nokia Messaging but earlier [...]

Nokia needs to give the option for email to be saved on the memory card

May 14th, 2009 · 2 Comments

I am a heavy email user and I use Emoze on most of my E71 and N95 8gig. I would like to see Nokia add an option for email and for that matter sms, to be saved on my memory card and not the phone itself.  Getting as much email as I do I read [...]

I had a really nice conversation with Jeff Rice today.  He’s the CEO at DeFi Mobile (disclosure, they provide me with VOIP).  I had some pointed questions I wanted to ask but we started off with what they are up to right now (the good stuff).  First though I should tell you [...]

Life without the Nokia E71

January 22nd, 2009 · 6 Comments

I want to thank Nokia and WOM World for  so graciously loaning me a Nokia E71 to review.  Now that they have it back (it’s been a few months now, I’m slow to publish sometimes) I am left without a work horse, everyday device.  I have been using a Nokia N78 but there are vast [...]

Activating Defi Mobile

December 1st, 2008 · 1 Comment

I had to reinstall Defi a mobile VOIP application for Nokia E and N series devices that support wifi last week.  So I thought I would record it and show you how easy it is to do.  Unfortunately the only other device I had with me at the time was a Nokia E71 that as [...]

The battery on the E71 is impressive…Sometimes.

October 13th, 2008 · 3 Comments

So I did not use the Nokia E71 for over 24 hours and the battery lasted.  Here are the details.  Wednesday was a short day for me but I still managed to kill the E71 battery before 2pm and then charged it back up 3/4 of the way before I unplugged everything at about 4pm.  [...]

Vringo makes your phone more fun

September 26th, 2008 · No Comments

Vringo is hot!  I have been using it on my Nokia E71 since this interview about 2 weeks ago with Andrew Perlman, the GM of  Vringo US.  Basically, it is a video ring tone for your mobile phone and so much more.  You and your friends can share video ring tones  and you can set [...]
